Consultant A&E surgeon with special experience of sports injuries, particularly horse riding. Member of European standards working groups on sports protective equipment, particularly riding helmets.
Michael Whitlock has been a consultant in Accident and Emergency Medicine since 1988, after completing a programme in Birmingham.
He is a specialist in medicolegal reporting including soft tissue injuries such as whiplash, hand injuries and sports injuries. On request a full CV and average charges will be provided.
He is also a specialist in minor operations to the standard required by his training in Plastic Surgery.
Other specialist interests include sports injuries especially equestrian. He has published many papers on the subject, which includes a thesis resulting in a Doctorate in Medicine (MD).
He is the medical representative on the European Committees (CEN) for protective sports garments and equestrian helmets.
He is the Chief Medical Officer for Blenheim Horse Trials and medical officer at many other equestrian competitions. Charges are negotiable.
